It is Friday-Pay Day one good beautiful day in our lives. It is so great that we may say botiful. On August 13 as The Nicole Claude Show started our campaign from “unemployment to employment.” It continues to be a great opportunity to breathe life and eventually create a sense of HOPE and VISION in the universe. We also promised you that by October 2010 our unemployment rate would have decreased to 5%, a national challenge. Perhaps that was a rather ambitious goal. We did not reach this low statistical rate however we are abundantly happy. According to the Associate Press in an article entitled “Unemployment in all Ilinois metro areas declined”, it is said that overall, Illinois unemployment stands at 9.4% while nationally it is 9.6%. When we started this campaign unemployment stood at 9.5%. By the way our current teenage unemployment rate is at 26% according to the Economic News Release. How can we make a difference for our teenagers?
In rececent years since 2007 and more so in 2009 the word unemployment has infiltrated in our daily life as a norm. As a nation we are constantly reminded by the media about its current statistics, who is to blame, the cause (s) and more. For example according to the media in Dec 2007 the unemployment rate was at 5% and by Dec 2008 we have reached 7.2%, and today about 14.8 million people are unemployed or at 9.6% statistical rate. What is unemployment or how is unemployment defined?
According to About.com: US Economy unemployment is defined as by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) as people who do not have a job, have actively looked for work in the past four weeks, and are currently available for work. Also people who were temporarily laid off and are waiting to be called back to that job are counted as unemployed. Elsewhere unemployment is defined as the percent of Labor Force that’s unemployed.
Here at The Nicole Claude Show we will continue to monitor our current “employed” status. Also according to recent media report “more jobs are adding. People are applying for jobs.” One yay for a teenager who is reportedly happily employed. Beyond being happily employed is passion.
As previously mentioned we thank this month of October for its abundance. This month of October 2010 has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This makes this week-end an extra special one, what is on your agenda! On mine I will enumerate all my abundance and be grateful.
